For 65 years, Label Rouge breeders have been at a point in the chain where respect for traditional methods is essential to producing top-quality poultry and eggs, while respecting animal welfare and the environment.

These grassy areas, which must be planted with trees, allow poultry to access the outdoors year-round, every day, express their natural behaviours, and protect themselves from bad weather and predators. 

RIGOROUS ANIMAL CARE

This starts with a healthy and balanced plant-based diet, adapted to the rustic breeds and the slow growth of the poultry. Farmers make several daily rounds among the poultry to ensure their good health.

EGG COLLECTION

In egg production, the collection is carried out by the farmer at least twice a day, ensuring optimal freshness. 

COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE

Label Rouge poultry farmers are mostly farmers who grow the cereals that make up the feed for their animals. Guardians of traditional know-how in harmony with their environment, they actively contribute to the preservation of biodiversity and the diversity of landscapes. 

TRANSMISSION AND FUTURE

The commitment of Label Rouge producers. It involves the transmission of farming ethics and production methods that, although traditional, are increasingly favoured by younger generations, thus ensuring the sustainability of this unique know-how. 

PRESERVATION OF RUSTIC BREEDS 

Label Rouge farmers contribute to the maintenance of rustic breeds (lines), selected for their slow growth and their suitability to outdoor rearing. This hardiness makes them more resistant to diseases, thus limiting the use of medications, particularly antibiotics. The use of phytotherapy, essential oils, homeopathy, and other alternative products is favoured.

STRICT PRODUCTION RULES 

All the stakeholders in the sector share the same goal: to provide superior quality to consumers. They all adhere to strict production rules, defined in the Label Rouge specifications, approved by the public authorities. 

TRANSPARENCY AND SAFETY FOR CONSUMERS 

All are subject to internal controls by the Organisme de Défense et de Gestion (ODG) and to unannounced audits conducted by an independent and accredited certifying body, ensuring transparency and safety for consumers.
